Food Safety

As suppliers of fresh produce to Supermarkets in the UK it is our policy to ensure that all of our products conform to the requirements of current legislation, relevant codes of practice and individual customer specifications and are safe, hygienic and of the required quality.

We are required by our Customers to comply with a number of schemes which set out rigorous safety, quality and environmental standards for production. We also actively participate in a number of independent quality assurance schemes and insist that our supply base worldwide operate wholly in accordance with these same production standards.

HACCP is a system which identifies, evaluates and controls hazards which are significant for food safety. It provides the precursor for an effective quality system in that it identifies what needs to be done for product safety and quality. It is our objective to ensure that all likely and risky hazards are controlled; to ensure that all products supplied to our Customers are safe to eat as well as bringing the necessary satisfaction to repeat buy. Every person within our company has their role to play in HACCP systems. For HACCP to work properly commitment is required from the top down. No such system is ever complete and continuous monitoring and evaluation is required.

Our Technical Director and Quality Assurance team advise on and monitor all aspects of production and handling in order to maintain these standards.
