BARFOoTS of BOTLEY - CORNFEST 2009
The previous Cornfest was held on Saturday, 25th July, 2008 and managed to coincide with one of the few sunny days of July. It was opened by local MP Nick Gibb at 11am and went on until 4pm. Attractions included tours of the Farm, where the first sweetcorn harvests of the year were taking place, food and craft stalls, as well as a bar and barbeque. For children there was a maze, bouncy castles, pony rides and petting zoo. Even the local police came, not to arrest anyone, but to show off one of their vehicles to the local community.
Barfoots mascot Bobcob was in attendance and was a great hit with the children. Over 3000 people attended the event and more than £2,000 has been raised for local children’s hospice Chestnut Tree house. (www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk).
