In order to celebrate yet another record-breaking UK Asparagus Season, Barfoots of Botley invited its UK Supply Base to come and share their experiences at a UK Asparagus Review Meeting held at the Company's headquarters in West Sussex.
Between April and June this year, Barfoots sold in excess of 200 tonnes of locally-grown Asparagus. As well as a review of the successes of this year's UK Season, plans were laid to ensure a continuation of this growth next year. These include a significant expansion of existing acreage (in excess of 50%); early and late Season UK production and a continuation of concentrated efforts in harvesting techniques. NPD is also high on the agenda with some new and exciting presentation formats planned to shake up the market in 2006. |
